- MenuMaster Help
-
- MenuMaster is a program which enables you to select
- an application program from those on an onscreen
- menu. The menus are divided into two levels --
- the main menu level and the submenu level. From
- the main menu, you can choose a category such as
- games, word processing, spreadsheets, database
- programs, programming languages, etc. From there,
- you choose a specific option in that category such
- as Lotus 1-2-3, dBASE III, or BASIC. Once a choice
- from the submenu level is made, control is
- transferred to the chosen program. Upon exiting that
- program, the main menu again appears.
-
- As it says on the main option screen, use the up
- and down (or left and right) arrow keys to move
- the bar over the menu choices. When the desired
- option is highlighted, press Enter (carriage
- return) and the option will be chosen. Altern-
- atively, type the letter (in upper or lower case)
- which corresponds to your choice.
-
- If the option you have chosen is protected by a
- password, then you will be prompted for the correct
- password before allowing to run the program.
-
- The function of other keys will always be explained
- briefly on the bottom line of the screen. However,
- more complete explainations follow:
-
- The ESC key has two functions, depending on what
- level you are at. If you are on the submenu level,
- pressing ESC will return you to the main menu. If
- you are on the main menu level, you exit the program
- and return to DOS.
-
- The F1 key provides program help (this).
-
- The F2 key provides the ability to edit the menus.
- If you press F2, you will be prompted to choose one of
- three different options (add, delete, or update, or
- ESC to exit edit mode). If editing is protected by
- password, you will be prompted to enter it before
- proceeding.
-
- Type a "1" to add either a menu category or a menu
- item (depending on which mode you are currently in).
- You will be prompted to enter the relevant information.
- If you are adding a menu category, you will also be
- prompted to enter the first option of the new category.
-
- Type a "2" to delete either a menu category or a
- menu item. If the category has only one menu item,
- the category will be deleted as will as the last item.
-
- Type a "3" to update the existing information
- contained in the menus. Two windows will open -- one
- with the current information and one with the new
- information. Press RETURN alone to leave the infor-
- mation unchanged.
-
- The PgDn and PgUp keys provide a mechanism to show
- multipage menus. Pressing PgDn shows the next page
- of the menu (if applicable), and PgUp shows the
- previous page (if applicable).
